These messages appear at launch, when activating a trial or a licence, or when refreshing a list of postcodes, cities, streets or activities. Try the solutions in this order.
1. Your version is too old
This is the most common cause. If the message appears during activation, click Cancel to move past that window, then File → Settings → Advanced → Check for updates, click OK and restart the software.
2. Temporary server error
Try again 15 minutes later.
3. Firewall or antivirus is blocking the connection
Typical when the message appears the very first time IQUALIF is used on the machine. Temporarily disable the Windows firewall or your antivirus firewall and relaunch; if that works, add IQUALIF as an exception rather than leaving the firewall off.
4. Uninstall and reinstall IQUALIF
Uninstall the software, delete the leftover IQUALIF folder, then reinstall the latest version and reactivate your licence.
5. Contact us
If the message persists, e-mail contact@iqualif.com, call us, or use the contact form, giving the exact message and the version number from ? → About. We can also help remotely.
"An exception has occurred, please uninstall and reinstall"
The message suggests reinstalling, but in most cases it is really a file association or Java version problem. Start there — it is faster and you keep your settings.
Step 1 — Fix the association (Windows)
- Right-click the IQUALIF shortcut on the desktop.
- Open with → Choose another app.
- Select Java Liberica (or "Liberica Platform binary"), the version installed with IQUALIF — not another Java version.
- Tick Always use this app to open .jar files, confirm, then relaunch.
Step 1b — On macOS
Finder → Go → Home → Application Data → IQUALIF, then double-click l.jar. If needed, install Liberica JDK 21 from BellSoft and remove other Java versions.
Step 2 — Clean reinstall, only if step 1 fails
Uninstall IQUALIF, delete the remaining IQUALIF folder (on Windows: Windows + R → type %APPDATA% → Enter → right-click the IQUALIF folder → Delete), then reinstall the latest version and reactivate your licence. If the message still comes back, ask to speak to an agent: we offer secure remote assistance.
A message mentions my computer clock
Check that your computer's date, time and time zone are correct and set to update automatically. A clock offset prevents licence validation.
