Single-computer licence: one machine per licence

The rule

An IQUALIF licence is tied to one computer. On first activation the key is bound to the machine's hardware fingerprint. To work on several machines at the same time you need one licence per machine; contact us for multi-seat pricing.

"This key is now active on another computer"

The same key has been used on two different machines. The server automatically suspends the licence and an e-mail tells you how long the suspension lasts.

1. Decide which computer you want to work on, then activate your key there: the window "This key is currently active on another computer…" appears — click Continue. The licence switches to that machine and disconnects from the other.
2. From then on use a single machine: it is switching back and forth that triggers the suspension.
3. If you only ever used one computer, write to us: we check the registered fingerprints and unlock the licence.

Reinstalling Windows, changing a hard drive or a network card can change the fingerprint and trigger this message even though you did not change computer. Tell us and we reset the binding.

Moving to another computer

This is possible, free, and you do it yourself — no need to contact us:

1. Install IQUALIF on the new computer.
2. Activate your usual key: menu ? → Licence → Activate a licence.
3. A window appears: "This key is currently active on another computer. Click Continue to use it on this computer. The other session will be disconnected."
4. Click Continue.

The licence moves across: it is activated on the new computer and automatically disconnected from the old one. Nothing needs uninstalling first and there is no reset to request.
